つまり、頭にthe が付くのです。Our autumn/winter products will go on sale in the Kanto area from August 1.

エリア（area）と似た言葉に region （地域・領域）が有りますが、こちらも the を付けます。The Kanto region will be mostly sunny, with highs in the low 30s.
（関東地方は大方晴れで、最高気温は30度代前半でしょう）
